Europe's Criminals Welcome Europe's Lawless Approach to the Internet

We welcome extra rights for criminals

Europe's cybercriminals have welcomed the informal text on Internet blocking adopted by Europe's Justice Ministers on Friday, 3 December.

“We warmly welcome the explicit support for a lawless approach to Internet censorship proposed by the Ministers,” said Bardo Ordinatio, secretary general of the Cybercriminal Society. The reference to “non-legislative” measures is an important step away from the rule of law, which is a measure that has been demanded for years by Europe's criminals.

“The Ministers often complain about a fictional “wild west” on the Internet – with this important step towards lawless censorship, we are finally putting laws behind us. Democracy, due process and the rule of law have always been overrated. Welcome to the wild west,” proudly proclaimed Dr Ordinatio.

The Cybercriminal Society also welcomed the extra rights being offered to criminals. “The rights of criminals are finally being acknowledged and protected” added Dr Ordinatio. “The text proposed by the Belgian Presidency of the Council calls for criminals to be informed when their website has been blocked – and given information about how to complain. This approach is not just cheaper for the taxpayer compared with investigation and prosecution, it displays a degree of respect for criminals that has rarely been seen before in the EU. Our criminal coalition (Europe's Nonsensical Asinine Cretinous Shallow Organisation – eNACSO) lobbied hard for this – and this lobbying has paid fantastic dividends!

“It is time to bring this criminal-friendly approach into the offline world,” said Dr Orinato. “Why should only cybercriminals be politely informed when their crimes have been identified? Why not send letters to bank robbers and murderers if the police become aware of their activities?”

Notes:

The text adopted is as follows:
"2. Where the removal of webpages containing or disseminating child pornography is not possible within a reasonable time, Member States shall take the necessary measures, including through non-legislative measures, to ensure that the blocking of access to webpages containing or disseminating child pornography is possible towards the Internet users in their territory. The blocking of access shall be subject to adequate safeguards, in particular to ensure that the blocking, taking into account technical characteristics, is limited to what is necessary, that users are informed of the reasons for the blocking and that content providers, as far as possible, are informed of the possibility of challenging it."

Things are going wrong... Malmström keeps making unhelpful statements in the press, showing that she doesn't understand the subject and revealing the secret that blocking will be spread to other subjects and to more intrusive (albeit equally ineffective). Her interview in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung is a disaster!

The European Criminals publish their first list of sites to be blocked. We believe that the following organisations are damaging the interests of criminals and should be blocked immediately:
